gsl fuel pump dieing

Well it looks like my last post on this subject was a little too long ago. So here we go again. I have been burning up one fuel pump after another in my 84 gsl. I have change everything. I mean the tank the carb all lines ( metal and rubber ) and now I have changed the tank again. I also put a resistor in the wire supplying power to the pump. I have 117 miles on the current pump (more than the holley red I killed this summer) and all seems to be going well. To those of you who were experiencing similar problems and that were keeping up with this post, I hope that this is still helpfull.

Brian

i figure it lowers the voltage to the pump => wont burn out as fast

just want to make sure ur still getting enough voltage to the pump to give you enough fuel

Well I still have fuel at full throttle for as long as is advisable on the freeway, around left handers and the whole nine yards. The fuel delivery system is finally acting exactly like it should. I used a ballast resistor for a 78 Dodge Pickup. I havent measured voltage at the pump yet but it should be like 10 volts ish. I dunno something like that. That and yet another fuel tank change have solved the prob. Im convinced though that my other fuel tank was just fine. Its the resistor.
