grrr
so i went to get my 7 inspected the other day she did great up to the snilffer test... first the guy was having problems getting a good reading then i had to adjust my idle... my car was idling (on my tach) at like 350- 400 and it said 1100!!! on his computer..WTF? i leaned her way out and i still blew 1230HC. i have done everything to get her to pass.. new plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, oil change.... i guessing if he could get a better reading then maybe she would possibly pass or come closer...

You should try some of that 'Guarenteed to Pass' stuff that you can buy at your local parts store. I would also think that adjusting the idle down wouldn't really have an effect on the mixture, there's a separate screw for that.

Looked at your ACV yet? Are the lines to the cat connected? You should be able to pass emissions testing - sniffer - with a reasonably tuned vehicle (plugs, cap, rotor, etc), good cat and a working ACV system.

i also adjusted the mixture screw and leaned it way out. i had to get my idle down for his comp to register that my car was idling right im not too sure why my tach said 350-400 rpms when his read 1100..(as my car barely stayed at idle, and almost died).. i heard he might have been clamping the wrong wire ? i dont know im going to geat that pass emissions crap and drive the crap out of her befor i bring it back in.
