Question GRM and 1st gens?

Did GRM (Grass Roots Motorsports magazine) ever do a feature on a 1st gen where they tried to replicate the performance of a 3rd gen?

What about other stories?

No clue, but that is my new favorite magazine - to the point where I'm letting my subscription to Sport Compact Car die off.

The latest issue has an FD on the cover and a dyno, a TII autocrosser feature, and is peppered with 7 and rotary references But their focus is what I'm into: autocrossing, road racing, sportscar restoration, unbiased car coverage, intensely technical articles, and true budget performance.

And that Ro-Spit is cool as all get-out.

Yeah, they did feature an article on a 1st Gen resto and upgrade. It was online many moons ago, but I have long since lost the link.

Yes. 13b streetport, good suspension, lightened car. mabye even some gears. All in all they got the acceleration of the 1st gen same as 3rd gen, but the 3 handled better. But if you fix the 1st gen's suspension geometry it can be made to handle very well. tri-link, panhard, turn in spacers to name a few helpers.

I still have those articles. They even go over porting. Mabye I'll scan them.....

Would you please scan them?
Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

There's not much first-gen coverage, esp technical stuff... or maybe I just don't know where to look. Anyone know of good published material for first gens? What about some of them books?

On a side note:
JEC-31 or anyone else for that matter, have you read GRM's new sister publication? I think it's called ClassicAutosport... and it's supposed to be about older cars(before the 60s or 70s?) and buying/restoring/racing them. I want to pick it up at the bookshop, but they don't have it. I was wondering if anyone has read it...

Is it ever! I want one. You can buy the whole set of back issues where they describe its buildup for $75 for 16 magazines. If that didn't work out to something stupid in Oz$ I'd actually consider it.
