Got a parts car! Yay! No Keys!

Hey guys, I got a quick question. I just picked up a spare parts car. It has no key but it runs. Can I just use my ignition switch to start it up? Another thing the steering wheel is locked when I use the switch to start it will it unlock the wheel when I turn the key to the on position? Thank You in Advance

replacement key

The ignition, door and hatch keys should all be the same if the locks are original.
Best bet is to remove the hatch lock and have a locksmith make keys to match.
Once you have a key turning the ignition to on will unlock the steering wheel.

To run the engine you just have to remove the housing that covers the ignition switch (and the other switches). Than remove the ignition switch contacts housing (that part with the cables) at the left side.
You can now start the car with a screw driver.

The steering wheel is locked mechanically.
You have to remove the entire ignition switch (the part you put the key in), by cutting the 2 screws or drilling of the head off from one of the 2 screws that holds it.
If you are strong or have some strong friends and don't need the steering assembly any more you can force it by turning hard on the steering wheel.

Use a dent puller to pop the ignition lock out of the housing the just turn it over with a screw driver! LOL

if you have a small set of vise grips you can grab the bolts holding the ignition assembly to the steering collem and just unbolt it then the steering wheel wont be locked and you wont screw up your ignition switch if you later want to get keys made for it.. it actually pretty easy, i have done it with 2 different cars so far with no problems
