not too bad at all. at least you're proud of your car. a little tlc will go a long way and im sure you know that. the car looks as if its got a lot of potential. some un painted wheels would spice up the appearance as would a 4-spoke steering wheel and a new rub strip. but hey, at least you're working on the car and not letting it rot into the ground!

Thanks guys. I painted the wheels cause 1:I felt like it and 2: To protect them for resale later. Yeah the engine bay sucks right now but will get all emissions removed, AC removed, air pump removed, all that next year. My plans are T04/HT-18 hybrid turbo, bridgeport 12A, GSL rear end, SE hub/spindles, Tokico Illuminas, New sway bars, Turbo II transmission, etc etc. I like how the wheels turned out actually. Low cost so if they get fucked up I'm not forking outm ore to get powdercoating fixed. I'm actually removing the trim, just having a really hard time getting all that crap off. Steering wheel will be replaced with an FD Efini wheel. Thanks again guys, keep the comments coming

Painted them for to keep up retail value? There isn't much of a market for + wheels I believe, and then all the emmissions is going to be scrapped. But a good looking car, good plans for it. Is it your daily driver?

Yeah it's my DD for now. I've tried everything I could to try and get all the double sided tape off of the side but haven't found anyway that wont fubar the paint. I'm going to replace the wheels with Pana's or Wats and will sell the + wheels, not the car. The car will never be sold unless the right price comes along. I have the seat covers on to ensure no more ripping in the seats so I can sell them after new seats go in. I've never scratched the paint so I'm good LOL Thanks for all the comments guys. Keep them coming

To clean the engine bay, try kerosene and a scotch brite pad. For the adhesive left from the door strips, mineral spirits or alcohol and a terry cloth rag. 3M also makes an eraser disc that you can chuck in a drill or die grinder. Remove what you can before using the eraser, it was made to remove pinstriping without damaging the paint.

Sorry to say, but the painted wheels gag me and you aren't protecting anything by painting them, just making it harder to refurbish them if that time comes. As fas as selling them, I have a stack of spares in the garage and can buy them from the wreckers for 10 bucks each.

I do like the shirt.

Yeah the paint is really to protect from weathering and staining that type of deal. It actually should be too hard to remove. I can try the eraser wheel, not sure how well it will work but it's worth a shot. I can get the glue and stuff off but that that double sided tape stuff. The back of the shirt has FB12A and a rotor underneath it

Another product that might work is Goof Off, found in the home center paint dept.. It removes adhesives and latex paint, won't harm enamels or body paint.

Yeah I've got an adhesive remover and it just isn't working. It works on the glue but not that double sided tape.

You need to get the foam rubbed off, then there is a thin layer of plastic that the adhesive bonds too. There are many methods to get it off, easy ones too, but they won't preserve the paint unfortunately. You could also try a still plastic scraper or a brass wire brush chucked in a drill. I would mask off the paint before using either one of those.

I know gasoline will work because the strip under the fuel filler is usually the first piece of molding to delaminate.

I love the shirt!

That engine bay should not be too hard to clean up. Makes for a good project!
