You can tap into the intake manifold runners and route the omp lines that way.
My old 81 with a Mikuni was set up that way.

If you install the fitting in the intake manifold, the OMP wont last long as the vacuum will create too much suction. So either premix or install it in the fuel bowl. I've done it many times and for many years.

Direct shot of oil to the engine will make a smoky exhaust.

It simply sucks too much, eh?
Huh. Never knew that. The OMP never fried on my old SP 13B when it was set up like that. I have also seen a 45 DCOE with 1 inlet nipple port sitting on top of the jet cover. The OMP lines were run to a 'Y' connector (2 into 1) and then the single oil line was connected to the top of the jet cover.

Yea I can't see how mechanical OMP can fail due to to much suction, it doesn't even pump oil if you want to get technical, it just channels it. If anything you'd be getting too much oil in the intake, but then again, I don't have years of experience...

Suck too much is not really the right word for it but much more like unregulated flow. Instead of the oil coming up on its own, its getting being forced out of the OMP.

Before you start, the carb can be mounted either way depending on your intake manifold. On the older manifold, the cable pulls from the bottom of the shaft; the newer ones, pull from the top. If it pulls from the bottom, then the fuel bowl should be facing the engine. If not, you have to install the OMP fitting above the float’s screw.

For inlet fitting, you can use the stock nikki carb’s brass line. Just cut it in half and use the outer end. You will need 2 drill sizes (1 same size as the hard line / 1 smaller size). I said 2 sizes to counter sink it and prevent the hard line from sliding inside the fuel bowl. Us gas tank repair kit (putty) to completely seal it to prevent a fuel leak. For the soft lines, apply heat to the plastic lines to re-shape it. I use my lighter since Im a smoker.

Is that bottom pic a 12a? The casting looks different than on the 2nd picture. Also, What series 13B is the 2nd? The reason I ask is because i can't tell the 13B engines apart easily without looking into the exhaust ports.

edit: I see the 3rd is also a 13B but why are the castings different?
