The Good Ol' Stock Antenna

The Good Ol' Stock Antenna
I know there's a sale section on the forum, but I'd beg the admins to leave this up, since the sale section doesn't get nearly as much 1st gen traffic.
I am looking for a stock antenna, the black bendy one, from the alen-key bolt upwards. Mine broke (picture) but I really liked it. The base is fine, but the top broke. It's attached at the bottom with an alen-key bolt, so you don't need to do any major removal of the base from whatever parts car you might get it from
in any case, if anyone's got one, could you plz message and/or post here?
Thanks in advance to the admins who aren't deleting this :P

I'm sure the ant has to be stock or at least stock option because I've seen quite a few Rx's with it, and the only owner before my family was an older lady who didn't know anything about cars other than to take it to get tuned and oil changed once a year.

Edit:
checked autozone's website... the only four I get dont' have descriptions... so I'm lost.

I sawed off that black bendy one and replaced it with a STOCK power antenna that came from a GSL... The black bendy one might be stock but I doubt it is, because first gens had power antennas... besides why get another black bendy one when you can go for power antenna... I had bad reception on my black bendy antenna compared to the STOCK power antenna.

Yeah, the black bendy is aftermarket.
They are at most, $9.99 at Radioshack or Autozone.
Your original antenna would have been a power retractable metal mast antenna.....that was really only good at wearing out. The reason you see so many FBs with it, is because like I said, stock antennas break fast.....and the black bendy ones are cheap replacements.

Hey, hey! Easy on the OEM antenna! I have OEMs on both cars ('course I replaced one about 6 times).
RadioShack had one that fits nicely, and I've got 2 in the box in the garage.
Sometimes you can get the whole unit from the junkyard, sometimes only the power unit. Masts are sometimes available from a dealer or Mazdatriix, etc.
The OEM antenna is sometimes available from the manufacturer, and sometimes that appears on ebay.

Halfway through 83 they started power antennas as I understand it. I called a Mazda dealer once for something, and he asked me the chasis code because they changed halfway through. I asked what the differences were, and he said mainly the power antenna, the gas tank, and a few other things I have forgotten. Not that they really know anything, but if you alsogo to crutchfield and look up parts "custom fit" for an 83 RX-7, it will ask you when it was made so they know if it has a power antenna or not. Coincidence?

I don't want a huge metal antenna like regular cars, or a stupid noisy, weighted power one, I just want my small, descreet black bendy one. Because I doubt they've made ones to fit for a LONG time for my 18 year old car, I couldn't find them at autozone, or at radioshack...
I just wanna know if someone has one, I think it looks so much better than the metal ones, screw the reception, I never listen to the radio here in Quebec anyway!.... okay maybe that' snot true, I listen enough to not want to smooth the spot over and not have one... but not enough to care how good reception is

They make universal fit antennas. I've bought two for my RX-7... Granted they were the metal kind... I had to buy two because people kept pulling them to the full length all the time, which was like 8 feet tall, and they kept getting caught on trees and ****. They thought it was funny. It quit when I made them pay for a new antenna.
I know rubbers are available. I'll check around next time I'm at a local auto parts store and get you a Brand and model...

Canada must not stock those rubber antennas at their Autozones or Radioshacks.
For what reason, I can't even imagine. But, try any local auto parts chain stores. I have always seen them for $9.99 at every car parts store.

I personally like the black bendy look... it looks more sporty.... on a rear-antenna car that is... they don't look right on cars with the antenna on the front.

Keaponlaffen - yeah, I can imagine my shadow (daily driver) with one on the front, that would be hilarious!
Pele - I would definitely appreciate the make and model number
Everyone else - I'll check with Canadian Tire and some radioshacks in Ottawa (bigger city than I'm in)... they might have 'em. I just hope they have one that fits the base I have because I can't fathom how the hell I'd get the base off the car... and dont' really wanna try!
