Good Deal?

On Ebay there is a 1984 12a that has 77,000 miles on the motor. Motor includes distributor. thermostat housing, belt pulleys, oilfilter/housing and oil sending unit. He is going to do a compression check for me. There is a buy it now for $350.00. A good deal or not?

Post the seller's name, maybe somebody here has dealt with them before and could give you a reference.
That seems high, but that's low miles and 84/85s are the higher-compression lighter-rotor 12As.
Good luck.

I looked at his feedback, hes got 2 strikes against him prettty quickly...Id say No, I doubt what he says is right about it...Theres not a lot of 85's going around with 77k on them

12A is gonna be a little hard to find with low miles, I know where there is a shitload 13b's...But that dont do you any good...

Surely in nashville theres something around... I know Kevin Landers is somewhere around you, he rebuilds rotarys pretty cheaply, his name is something like hyptnz or something on here, hes mainly in the 2nd gen forum.

His emai l is hypntyz@charter.net

I was looking for a 12a for the easy of instalation. I am new to the rotary engines and I am wanting to convert it into a 74 Karmann Ghia. Can a 13B be stipped down to just the alternator, Carb, Distributor and all emisions and fuel injection taken off?

listen to mike p, he knows his ****

I bought a 12a from a place in FL they quoted 33k miles on the odo in the car I payed 250 plus 100 for shipping when it got to my house it was caked w/ oil and rust. I looked inside the exhaust ports only to find flaked off rust was about 1 1/2 " deep inside the motor, with the delivery driver standing right there I called the place and asked WTF? they told my to run some motor flush through it. I told them it is a ROTORY engine and you cannot do that. They told my get an asc certified tech to write a letter stating the motor was no good to get my money back. More money to do that then what I had in it so it is still sitting on the pallet at my house.

peace
