Unhappy give up on engine or not???

ok, Ill try to keep it simple, my Oil Metering Pump has been out for no telling how long, I bought the car a while back rebuilt the carb( which I got it started but now it wont start) Its a ,80 model sa, the question I have is : since my OMP could of been out for a long time and my Apex seals might be ruined should I just call it quits and find another rx7 or what? My car is pretty beat up, interior shot , some rust ect. but it mine and there is some strange reason im holding on to her. But since the omp been out for no telling how long , will it make the engine useless without rebuilding which wouldnt be worth it with this car. just frustrated, any replies would be helpful. Thanks guys

2 stroke oil in the gas tank 100:1 ratio for starters. check your compression dude. you could give up on the body but atleast find out whats up with the motor.

When I bought my 2nd gen, the MOP rod was unhooked. Didn't even know what it was at the time as it was my first rotary. I have no idea how long it had been disconnected. Body showed 75k on it, it now has 107k, compression is good and it doesn't smoke.

Do a compressin test and post the results.
