I was just wondering, ive never got a car painted before. At a decent shop do they take all trim off and bumpers, door panels ect and then paint, or do they just mask around it?

 

Depends how much you want to pay. It costs a lot more for a job which removes everything. You may be able to work a deal where you remove things like tailights, side trim, window molding, etc, and reduce the price, and re-assemble yourself. That's the same decision I'm going to have to make in the spring - do I want to do all that work.
