Getting door handles off

Hello,

I am curious as to how i get off the door handles. They have a little clip ion the back but it looks like there's a pin and the handle part has to slide off. Unfortunately they are old, easy to break and hard to replace. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

sure, where the plastic wraps along the vertical rod, place your thumb on the open space and push. the plastic fixture will rotate out of the way, so the rod can move backward from where the rod bends 90 degrees horizontal inserting into the door handle hole.

It is a hell of allot simpler if I could show you.

If it breaks, you are not SOL. A glob of rubbery blue water pump seal at the end of the 90 horizontal rod can hold it in place. Again, hard to verbalize, but it is super simple

Presume you are referring to the INNER door handle? Pic here shows the clip, with the rod released.
Maybe seeing this helps with Midnt mech's description? As seen here the clip pivots OFF the row, remaining on the handle ***'y
