Get Carter?

Does anyone run a Carter fuel pump?

http://www.racetep.com/webfuelspark.html#webfuel

This website was saying that they put out 60-70 gph and that it will only squirt it at 4 psi so therefore needs no regulator. But what if your running boost? 10 psi per say, how sufficient will that be? Is there always a need for a rising rate regulator or will a high enough gph make up for that?

And I'm not running FI, so I'm not dreafully worried about psi.

Thoughts?

You can run maybe 1 psi of boost before you run out of fuel pressure.

Well, if you plan on boosting, you will need more psi than that. If you run 10psi boost, you will need the pump to do whatever base pressure (say 4 psi), plus however much boost you are running (in this case 14psi). Some guys use an efi pump, say from a GSL-SE, and use a return style regulator to bring the pressure down. It is a good idea to get a gauge and regulator even if you don't boost. They aren't too expensive, and you can't rely on the pump to control pressure. There is another thread where a guy was using a 7psi pump on his Holley with no reg. The fuel was pouring out of the carb. Turned out the pump was putting out like 13 psi without the regulator.

what he said ^^^^ plus when shopping for a regulator, get a "boost referenced" one. That way the regulator will increase fuel pressure 1 psi for every 1 psi of boost. This makes the pressure stay perfect at all boost levels. and yeah it'll almost have to be a return-style. I've never seen a deadhead boost refernced regulator. Carter also makes an 18psi model though, so that would be sufficient for 10 psi of boost.
