[QUOTE=mortenf]The pictures where taken in Trondheim, about 300 miles from Oslo, at the docks. You are also right about the SE rims. They came with the car, but where so hideous that i had to change them. I know its rare, thats why all the modifications im doing are completely reversable, not a hole is drilled in the body, and all the original parts are stored. QUOTE]

The factory production figures I have are not fully reliable but indicate around 6750 RX7s were built with the 12AT engine. The domestic market collapsed in 84 for the 12A engined RX-7. For an extra 12.5% you could buy a turbo GT-X compared with the na GT-X. Even better you could buy a turbo GT for the same price as the na GT-X, so why not go turbo! 85 was even worse so Mazda knocked off some very cheap, turbo GT-Xs as a special to keep the factory busy while tooling up for the FC.

I am pleased you are keeping your car relatively stock. I have seen some horrible body modifications in Japan which really come out of their taste for comic book characters. Fortunately there never was a super hero RXman. There are good shots on the Japanese website of some upgraded cars, you don't need to read the text!

Out of interest what are the body and engine numbers?

Thought I recognised the background, I was there two years ago. Trondeim is nearer to Flora than Oslo unless you have to drive! My earlier visits were rough rides on a coaster out of Bergen.

Trondheim is not much bigger than Springfield, and they are even few roads out! My experience of small towns is the cops don't bother to chase you, they just wait outside your house till you come home then want to try the car out.

Congratulations, you overtook my number of posts yesterday.

The cars body number is SA22C-301231, the engine i have no clue.. As Hellrotary says, as long as the property is private, you can pretty much do what you like..

My 84 is SA22C-702986 with the 12AT engine number 716712. That number is stamped on the top left just under the alternator which makes it difficukt to read.

I hope you kept the turbo badges as now they are very difficult to obtain. Sometime ago people where dropping ex Cosmo turbo engines in a na body and buying up all the spare badges so from the outside it looked like an original. You should have five plus the four stock Mazda badges. The usual problem is the front turbo badge which comes in different colors depending on the original paint code.

If yours came without the rear spoiler and you want to keep the original look, then look around for from one from the Norwegian SDX model which is identical to the Japanese GT-X spoiler, they had the same part number!

looks like sweet little setup you've got there. i'm sure you'll figure something out for your fueling issues. good luck with it.

just a whisper in your ear ... how about a DCOE-based fuel injection system running 4 of those 800 cc injectors and an honest-to-God EMS. if i had it, that's probably the direction i'd take.

Yes it is a genuine 12AT. What has been done is to add the FMIC tubing over the top of the turbo. Perhaps your's is like mine with the tubing leading from the front, which is a neater way if you are using an FMIC with the inlet and outlet on the same side.

The photo in my previous post was a stock 12AT without an intercooler.

I have attached two photos showing mine, the concept is to have a layout which looks stock with the FMIC inlet and outlet on the righthand side which keeps the engine bay uncluttered. The body is modified to lead forward rather than down as on the stock set-up. As you can see the BOV is at the rear, again minimising space required. After the changes I resprayed with silver as orange does not go with sunrise red.

Your car is hella sweet, you have a lot to be proud of! That red FC is pretty nice too. One of the better looking ones in my opinion.
