Gas and Temp and Lights not registering

On my 85 rx7 my dash cluster seems to be having some trouble...I have fresh fuses etc...but the temp and gas needles dont register and the console dose not light up...would it be the ciruitry of the cluster causing this problem or dould it be something else? Please help, just bought the car a few days ago and want to get it all set, sux not to know how much gas i have lol

The 15amp fuse in the fuse panel at the right front is the one that controls the
instrument gauges. When you refer to the console, do you mean the instrument
lights?. If so it could be that the dimmer switch is dialed in the off posistion. If it is not the switch is bad. It can be bypassed to make it work. rx7doctor

the 15 amp fuse is good, not sure if the dimmer is bad or not but Im more worried about the gas meter and temp meter, any ideas for them? As for the dimmer, is there any way I can test to see if its the dimmer that is bad?

i bypassed myn, popped it out of the dash and just wired past it... You blow the dimmer if you connect a male and female end that are located under the shifter panel of the dash... I made this mistake... lol taught me a lesson, but it looked like they were supposed to be connected
