Smile gas tank

i havea 79 seven and wanted to know if there is a difference between those gas tanks and the 84-85 gsl-se gas tanks

I believe so. I am thinking that the only real difference is that they made the hole where everything mounts to (sending units, etc) different. If you have pics, I have a good pic of an 85 GS tank and you can compare. I could be totally off on this btw.

They are infact different. I have an 83 and had to just put an 84 tank on. My old tank had the 3 lines welded on the tank. My new 84 tank has the hole at the top where you can take it apart and look at the sending unit and return lines. I was able to put the newer tank on my 83 but I'm not sure if it'll fit your 79. I wouldn't think that it won't work though. Hope that helps ya.

You need to trim or remove all together the spare tire well. If your a balla, theres no need to worry about a spare, just call a tow.
