Gas Tank

I have a 80. Need to change my gas tank out. what other years will work in my 80??

i think most tanks will work, and the newer ones will even have a drain plug, i dont think the 80 does

I believe 1984 was the 1st year tank with a drain plug. Previous to that fuel pump required to drain. Use lots of penetating fluid when removing & prepare to get dirty.

79 and 80 where the only years with a full spare and thus, that tank size. however it is very difficult to find a good tank as there are no aftermarkets being made. it would probably be most cost effectiver to have a competent radiator shop clean and line your tank. also run a search as i had a ton of threads on this from my 79.
