g or gs?

Hey all-who-are-all-rex-knowledgeable, what's the difference between a g and a gs. I got one of them, not sure which? The poll made me question this.
Thanks!

The base model is the "S" not "G." Basically the difference is little things, like the S has no dead pedal, map lights, trunk light, etc. My 83 is an S and it didn't have any of that untill I put it in.

What year is it? There are a few series: 79-80, 81-83, and 84-85. The 'S' has a two spoke steering wheel and came standard with steel wheels. The 'GS' in 84-85 had the standard three spoke steering wheel that is similar to all 84-85 wheels, available in leather - which was not standard on the 'GS'. Mechanically, they are the same, within their series.

It's an 85, must be the base model. No map light or hatch light.
Thanks!

I wish I had an S instead of a GS. My helmet hits on the sunroof when I am racing and it is driving me nuts. Doesn’t the S also have less noise insulation in the body as well?

my 82 has steel wheels, 2 spoke steeringwheel, a sunroof, I think it might have had AC at one point but I dont know. Theres a button for it and the studs for it are still on the engine.

I always though it was a gs, but maybe its S?
