indeed
my friend owned a 88 GXL which he had done a fair amount of work on
pretty much everything short of porting or forced induction
I bought my GS and he took a ride saying "Whoa, your car is much faster than mine for sure!"

Can't wait for turbo, then I can play with the four port turbo boys and maybe a third gen or two. Turbo should be done within a month.

You doing it as a blow through set up on your 12A?

Whats your plan?

I was gonna go with a single turbo on my 12A,
But I dont want another Turbo I got a 88 10AE and the last thing I want to do is buy 2 of every dam thing I need,So why not port the 12A,and have fun

Save my money for the 10 AE when its her time for restore/upgrade.

Will the exhast tubing coming off the mani fit exact to the flange?

I had a guy around here who would make a custom manifold with a RB flange to the same flange on the turbo he charges like $350.

Hes the best around Tampa Bay area.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say.
Having been introduced to rotary-engined cars a number of years ago via the RX4, I'm pretty fond of the 4-port 13B. My '76 RX4 had a '74 motor in it, that's the one that has the largest stock ports. Anyway, I'm sold on the 4-port 13B as the best platform for modification. It's simplicity factor is undeniable, as well as it's torquier performance.

Yes I love 4 port engines,It dont matter if its a 13B or 12A.I personally think the 13B 6 port was a garbage design. They are not also know to be high HP hitters.

If did have a 13B from a GSLSE that bitch would have 12A plates so quick and be carbed.

Even the 13b n/a housings from 86-91 are garbage cause of the baffels,Yeah you can cut them out its no biggie.70s 13Bs are nice, just not to many good ones laying around any more.

But its the way to go if you can get one.

I know what you can make and sell here fast..

"Test" pipes off RB headers past all the cats,or off the exhast mani past all the cats to the cat backs,i thnk this will help alot of peopel here see if you can bend and weld some together as the same length and shape to replace them cats

My N/A 12A hasn't been beat by a 6-port yet, but then again I've only raced a half dozen or so. ****, while I'm bragging, I beat a MK3 Supra turbo.....it was an automatic.

Well,

I personally owned a GSL-SE that was street ported after the engine needed a rebuild.

It was a monster, ran a 14.53 (best) and mid 14's all day long, on pump gas. BTW, it still had the entire interior, A/C, PS, Stereo, & subwoofers, etc.

Other mods were: E-fans, Headers, straight pipe to prima-flow, Cone Intake for the MAF, stock 6-port actuators, the sleeves, and the Fuel Injection.

It had low end torque like a motherf@cker, due to the 6 port design. I could drive all day long a zip along in traffic without ever having to rev past 3500 RPM.

When I did rev past 3500 RPM, it felt like a kick in the *** because the car would pull so hard.

So, I guess 6-ports may or may not work for you, but I smoked the living **** out of stock TII's in the 1/4 mile.
Stoplight to stoplight, was even more embarrasing for them.

Back then, (early 90's), the only street driven N/A rotary that beat me was a Suzuki Samurai with a 4port 13B Bridgeport. - Which I later found out belonged to my current friend - Crispeed.

I am just saying that It depends on who does the porting, and how it was done. I know 6 ports can be done quite well.

As far as "stock" for "stock", - a GSL-SE 1st Gen will smoke a 12A.

For maximum flow, on a a forced induction engine, then yes, I agree a 4 port would be superior.

yeah, one of the main reasons why I went with a 6 port is because it has more low end power. This car is my daily driver. For day to day driving, i'd say its much better. But thats just me.
