Need to get a Haynes manual, they're pretty cheap and work great. It will describe everything and where they all go in terms of fuel lines. First things first I'd get the tank out of the back of the car

Interesting.
Do you have any history on the car, i.e., what problems it had that may have warranted removing the tank and parts of the carb. Prior history will help getting it back up and running. Also what are your plans/useage for the car. Intended purpose may help on getting it back running, easier/quicker.
Top pic shows the fuel pickup with screen, pump, filter, fill and overflow hose and tank. Make sure the pickup has the cork gasket. I replace the old screws with allen head ones, makes later removal easier.
The FSM, link in my sig line, will show how to route the fuel lines, I would use new ones. An extra hand helps when installing the fuel tank. If you need pics of a tank and fuel pump installed, just ask. Your fuel pump and filter look to be non-stock, so will be the mounting.
From the looks of the carb, I would buy a rebuild kit and go through it. In the FAQs is a link to the rats nest removal, start there. Removing all of the emissions crap will make working on, removing the carb much easier.
Need anything else, just ask and welcome to the Darkside. We forgive you for having an AE. lol

Being an owner of a Haynes manual for that car and a previous pickup, I can tell you that the Haynes manual for the RX-7 is horrible. It doesn't list everything necessary to work on the car like their other manuals. I don't know how well Chilton's is as well, but you can also give them a shot.
Also, we say this a lot (and prefer it), and that is to make your paragraphs/questions/etc understandable (grammar/punctuation/spelling). And your last paragraph, well that is one LONG sentence. I just say this for your own well being so that we can get you all the help you need. We just recently had one instance of someone making unintelligible posts. We don't need a repeat.

I never really had any trouble with the Haynes manual, but I also owned an SA when I was really using it a lot. I was able to bring an SA back from the dead with it. I have a GSL-SE now and I will say that the supplement section is really lacking. Course, you can always get the shop manuals online and they explain everything... wish I would have had them back then

Airflow is my life
Try the regional section. You might get more local help there. The FSM will five you all the diagrams you need to route everything, and I'd suggest you rebuild the carb. Its obviously been apart and there may be pieces missing.

Do junkyards still even have these? Here in Phoenix we have like 5 - 10 of them and every one of them laugh when I ask if they have RX-7's. One guy even said they "cost" too much to get in their lot. Are some areas of the country better than others?
