Fuel System Problems

OK my car runs, but theres still a bug or two I need to work out.

The main probloem is my fuel system. For my engine swap, I converted the fuel system of my car over to the GSL-SE system. I got the GSL-SE gas tank, lines, fuel pump, and new fuel filter. I also have this wired up to the second gen fuel pump resistor relay and circuit opening relay.

In order to start my car I have to start it with the fuel pump check connector (the plug you use to prime the fuel system) shorted out. Once I start it with the check connector shorted out I can kill the engine, unshort the connector and the car will start. This is true for just about anytime I start the engine.

The only thing that I might see as causing a problem is the cut and check valve from the vent line. This mechanism is what controls the fuel pressure inside the tank. I am still using the cut and check valve from my old carburated fuel system. The reason why I am thinking this, is in every fuel injected car I've ever driven when you remove the fuel cap, there is some sort of pressure release that you can here. I dont here any from my tank. My filler neck is also from the carburated tank as well.

So can anyone confirm or tell me what is going on with my fuel system?

On my GSL I am still using the stock carburated setup and if my tank is running low, or I've been driving a while I can definately hear the pressure when opening the tank. I don't know if this helps but it would seem to imply that the couple of components that you mentioned wouldn't cause problems with pressure.

interesting, I never had any pressure release with my old 12a, but I never had a chance to go through a whole tank before it blew.

I talked to a rotary shop the yesterday, and the guy said my fuel pump might be going out. That may very well be true considering I got the pump out of a junkyard.

Does anybody know the symptoms of a fuel pump going out on a GSL-SE?
