Fuel Pump Wiring Issue's
I've done some searching but am still confused so I thought I'd make a post and see if anyone had any good idea's.
It's an 84 GS, thought my fuel pump went out so I bought a new one...hooked up the new one and nothing, so I hot wired the old pump to the battery and low and behold it turned on.
I don't believe its the Relay because I can hear a click when I turn the ignition over and the engine has been swapped so I don't have the trailing ignition anymore.
I'm about to pull the relay out (if I can find it) and test it but I do hear the click when I turn the ignition on? Could it still be no good?
Any idea's?
Oh and no suprise but neither Advance Auto Parts or Napa carries the relay, go figure.
Thanks in advance.

It could still be the relay. Do the Search this Forum but with "fuel pump relay" and you'll have a solid way to test it from amongst the dozens of threads that will pop up. The relay doesn't click and you won't hear it at all because, in the '84 and '85 models, the engine has to be turning for the relay to close the circuit to energize the fuel pump.
Do the search again, please.
