Fuel pump upgrade
Currently I have a stock fuel pump and stock nikki carb ('83 GS Stock everything) whatt fuel pump should I go with *now* if later down the road I want to upgrade to the racing beat holly 465 setup (or similar)? I was looking at the Holley Blue/Red with a regulator, or maybe a Carter.
Also, on a stock nikki carb, would I see a difference in upgrading the fuel pump now?

also, you might see a small gain on the stock nikki, since the stock pump has probably gotten worn out over time, and there is no fuel pressure regulator on the stock fuel system to ensure youre getting adequate pressure, even if it is on the nikki

So if I want to get a carter fuel pump, are they all universal? For example, i'd go to ebay and just search/buy a "carter fuel pump" and basically anything should do as long as it will do 7psi?
*Edit: For example these auctions: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2435533077 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2435706949
