Fuel pump relay

Does anyone know off-hand where the relay for the fuel pump is, and an easy way to get at it (if it's hidden). My car died last thursday and i rigged a hot wire with a switch to run the pump (aftermarket pump, came with the car), but i would really like to get it working properly.

what year 7? if yours in the one in your sig, the fuel pump relay should be under the dash affixed to the steering column bracket

Did you check to see if you had spark to your trailing ignition? Does you tachometer work?

The car is an 84, same one as in the signature. And no, the tachometer does not work. It died, and then about a minute later the car sputtered and ran out of fuel, leading me to just think it was the pump. After hot-wiring the pump in, the car has run like absolute crap, so the thought of the trailing ignition being bad crossed my mind, but i'm still new to the idea of two ignitions, so idk

Switch ignitors, you probably have a bad trailing ignitor.

no doubt a bad trailing ignitor. if the tach dies, the most common failure is a faulty trailing ignitor. if the trailing ignitor fails, the fuel pump relay will not send 12V to the pump. hardwiring the pump is an awful idea. its a two pin connector..

I get that hardwiring the pump is an awful idea, but as it's my only car, i needed to do something, i'm gonna try and get an igniter tomorrow.
