Fuel Pump not flowing fuel.

For some reason my fuel pump is suddenly not flowing fuel, my car had been parked for a couple days and i went out to start it and it's obviously not flowing fuel to the carb.
I really wouldn't think that the pump itself would've just went bad all the sudden,
what else could cause the fuel pump to not pump fuel besides the pump itself? I have yet to check the filter, because it's not flowing fuel at ALL.

Thanks,
Crispin

Your year has a relay under the dash that could of maybe (?) went bad. Worth looking into.

This thread 10th post down has a pretty descriptive drawing where to find it.

Thanks for that.
I'm going to check everything today and see whats up. I'll probably go ahead and jumper the relay knowing i'm just going to leave it that way.

I jumpered the relay, checked the pump, and checked for power. All was good, so i took another look at the pump fuse and tested it. Turned out it was the fuse, it just had the tiny-est little break in it. So that fixed it.

You could take that jumper wire, run it somewhere hidden, put a switch in line and have your self a kill switch.

You're saying like, instead of using the jumper wire just put a switch in place and turn it on when you need the fuel pump to go. (which is an insanely good idea)

The lower models have black blank covers where options you don't have would of been. You could pick up whatever stock button should of been there and wire up the jumper to it in line so the pump turns on and off when you press it this way it'll look stock and un-noticable.

Depending on the location of the switch, it can be a rather effective anti-theft device. Hiding it inside the glove box or center console bin makes it less visible.
Tends to keep people from "borrowing" your car without permission.....

Yeah, that really makes me want to put a switch in now. Very smart.

Putting cruise control on this week so i'll do both at the same time.

That's exactly what I was trying to tell you... hehe. Get a stock button and wire the jumper in line. You have the S model... the blank plates that cover the spot where an option your car didn't come with is the perfect place to hide it. Take for instance the cruise control ON button (which your car doesn't have)... Get one from a higher model parts car, wire the jumper wire in line with that button and then it'll look stock yet unobvious as a kill switch. No ones going to turn on cruise control while trying to start a car, however they might flip a switch hidden in the glove or bin compartment.

Only problem is i actually am putting cruise control on my car. Not using the button as a switch. I'm thinking about using the rear window defroster button as a switch instead, would that be possible?

I do know the cruise control button will hold up b/c I used it before for quite some time without fail in the same situation. The defogger switch will work because of the fact it is a switch designed to turn on and stay in the on position when you let go and do the same in the off position. Is it rated to handle the output the pump uses... dunno...??? Without looking into it I would think so. If not you could always wire in a relay. haha, right back to the orginal situation.

I'm going to try the rear defogger switch here today. We'll see how it goes. Lol.

Well, i got it. I just wired it up and it works fine. It was just a bit of a pain in the *** to fish the wires of where the switch was at the top to where the plug was for the relay.
First i snipped the two original wires from the switch(yellow and blue/greenish) and then just spliced in two wires to the plug from the relay. I didn't remove the original yellow and blue/greenish wire for the Rear Window defroster because i couldn't figure out where they wen't, and who knows i might use them again or use them for something else. Idk.
