fuel pump did work, but now I cant idle

Well I tested my fuel pump before I was going to put the new one in there, and to my amazement, I simpily connceted the positive and negative wire wrong so the pump was going in reverse.

Now my engine is new, and I got it to start and run, but it wont idle, the minute I let off the gas it dies. One of my teachers said it sounded like it was running lean.

If your avatar is your engine, check the TPS...

yes my avatar is my engine, so what do I need to do to check my TPS? Its probably off, because I've never had to adjust a FC throttle body before. I'm guessing that the GSL-SE one is similar.

I could rev the engine to hell, (within reason, like below 3000 rpm) But the minute I go below around 2000 rpm or so, the engine starts sputering, let off the gas any more and it croaks. It starts right back up though so its not flooding.

Now I have a GSL-SE fuel pump, and it has the pressure regulator on the pump, and in addition theres regulators on both of the fuel rails. Should I consider adding an aftermarket one?

And tj, I'm not sure how you can hear if its running lean either lol.

I just thought of something, my transmission is pre 84 so it doesnt have a neutral switch. I also dont believe my clutch switch is working right.

Could this not allow the car to idle? It makes sence that the ecu would want to know if it was in gear or not, but then again you can idle in gear.....

Oh yeah and for anybody that cares, I found out the REAL reason why my 12a died. I went to bolt up my exhaust today, and looked down the cat. The thing was clogged to hell and it was only a year old. Guess this gives me an excuse to get my new RB exhaust!
