Well your car will stop running for starters.

I've lost a couple of fuel pumps in cars that I've owned and I've never really gotten any warning, they usually just up and quit. What symptoms is your car displaying?

I have experienced that many fuel pumpos when they are failing will make a loud buzzing noise.

lots in power under a load in another give away of some tye of fuel delivery problem

My MSD one makes a loud buzzing noise... sound of PERFORMANCE BABY!! lol

one time my car just died while i was driving down the road. it woudln't start so i started my diagnosis. i checked spart plugs. everything got fire so then i cheched for gass. it wasn't getting gass so i just got a screw driver and banged on my fuel pump. it started right up so i guess my fuel pump is going out. if your pump is bad you can try to bang on it like i did. if that doesn't help and you need to buy a new one, advance auto has a great high performance holley fuel pump. it is less expensive than a stock fuel pump and you get better performance.
