Exclamation Fuel problem fixed, but did i break and apex seal?

Well some of you guys probably have read my other posts about my top end spluttering. I replaced the fuel filter today and it seemed to fix the problem. Revs out to 8000rpm (and further I'm sure but not game) without any splutter. Anywayz I was on my way from testing when I felt a slight jerk in power and realized my fuel gauage was on red. Then on the way to the fuel station I heard like a pop noise, soughta like a normal cars back fire but only very quite. Not a big *bang*. Anywayz I just made it to the servo. 50 litres filled her up, so I'm guessing there was five in there? I think its a 55 litre tank. Have to check. Anywayz I thought o **** hope that wasnt an apex seal. So leaving the station I let her warm up and hit it in 2nd to see if there was any difference in power. It still went fine so I'm guessing I was just out of petrol. Anywayz if I did break something would it still have went normal?

Paranoid Chris.

I doubt it. When mine blew the engine was shaking like it wanted to come out of the car

The best way to find out is to have a compression test done.

It's a 16.6 gallon tank I believe, so you'll get 65 litres in her.

Depends on the year of the car for the tank size.

maybe AUS cars have different tank sizes?

if it still starts, idles, and drives fine, it's OK. Really. I promise. when it's blown it'll be gutless. and use 1/2 tank of fuel to go 30km.
