fuel problem

my fuel pump quit working or at least thats what i thought. i replaced the pump with a new one, and still no start. the pump acts like its not picking up prime. if i wire it direct it will eventualy fill the bowls, and run for a short time just long enough to run the carb out of fuel.

i think i have anouther problem with the tank or some thing, ive already blown the line and replaced the fuel filter.

It still cuts out even when powered from a direct voltage source? Is your check valve possibly in backwards?

i also checked the floats, i thought they may be stuck partialy closed or plugged up. but, there fine...i have the pump wired through a moroso switch panel now so i know its not a voltage problem, ive also put the FPG on and picked up 6.5 psi. still lost.......

If the fuel line is unimpeded (i.e. running into a bucket), does the pump still cut out? If not, get the pump tested. If SO, you can pretty much assume that the problem is somewhere behind the pump (i.e. probably in the tank).

When you say you've run it directly through a switched source, that means that you have totally bypassed the fuel pump cut relay, right? You are not using the original in-dash wiring at all?

correct, i have the switch box wired on a switched 12v i installed and the fan, ignition, interior lights, and fuel pump hook up there.

i think i found the problem though lve replaced the lines behind the fuel pump with some new line and that seems to have fixed it
