Fuel filter or vaccum lines?

I was driving my 85 SE to work this AM in traffic when I noticed the RPMs were low all of a sudden. I was pretty low on gas so I stopped and filled up. Afterwards it still idled low and seemed a bit slower than normal. Throttle response seemed OK but I had a few backfires on deceleration that I recently got to all but go away with some tuning. When I got to work I let it run and opened the hood. It was too dark in the garage to really see much but the engine sure was running lumpy. Im going to replace the fuel filter tonite and check /replace vac lines. But what do the experts think?

Just thought of something, wonder if I lost my leading ignition ignitor? I just wouldnt think it would run as good as it did without leading??

Fuel filter seems to be the right choice first, then check spark at plugs, oil, coolant levels.
