Fuel dilevery problem?

1983 base model

After doing a doughnut on the rainy parking lot surface outside my local big retail store... My engine stalled on the service road and refused to start... I hadn't spent much time inside the store, the engine was properly wamred up. At first I thought maybe I'd thrown or stuck a seal...

After a while, the cops showed up and gave me a push start... It ran boggy as hell under 3K rpm, so I kept it above the whole way home... It completely refused to have ANY power below 2.8K. Today, literally 10 minutes ago, I took it for a quick drive for some fast food and it ran as if nothing had happened last night... What gives?

I'd check the leading coil terminals and ignitor connections. Make sure none of the wires are loose. Bad leading ignitor or loose connection would cause similar symptoms.

Thats what you get for doing doughnuts in public areas!
I had a similar issue on my 81, turned out one of my leading coil was going out. The car would shut off if I let the engine go under 2K. Try checking there first. Oh and check your fuel filter too!

you could've knocked some sediment loose in either float bowl and may have been sucking it into one or more jets, partially clogging them. once you let the car sit, the sediment could've settled and you may no longer be sucking it into the jets.
