Fu**'n Pigs

What the fu**, last night I was cruising 65 with the rest of the people on the freeway. Even though it was posted 55. Well I had to get over for an exit ramp and the car in front of me speeded up and the car next to me slowed down, so I drove between them. The second I did, a fu**'n PoPo flipped on his cheeries and I pulled over.

I got nailed for doing 80 in a 55 ( when I was only doing 65, and he had no radar to prove ) unsafe lane change, careless driving, and riding to close.

I am so fu**ing pist right now, becasue I am 17 so ill probably lose my license becase of the dick in St. Paul who had nothing better to do than harass tennagers.

hehe...I guess it was "Bust the 1st gens night" yesterday, Tom.

Earlier, I was coming back from the grocery store, and pulled into my complex (not fast at all) and 2 squad cars almost hit ME as they came from around back of the building, heading the opposite way.

We drove past eachother, and I parked right in front of my window, and I as I got out of the car, BOTH cars sped around and blocked my car in.

I knew I didnt do anything, so I was just gathering up the groceries to bring in...and the guy cop walks out, and says "Doin a little shoppin?" I said, "Yeah." and he walked back to his car.

As I was going to head in the house, he walks out and says I have a warrant, for skipping court on a No proof of insurance citation (I forgot all about).

LUCKILY, I just updated the tabs on my car the day before, and just parked at my place when they "stopped me"...or I would have had my car towed.

Anyways, there goes $100 bail, and whatever fine I get in court in May. (D'oh!)

Oh yeah...and, I seen you in your car at Porky's last night as you were pulling out of their. I just came with a group of people to check out cars....since I didnt want to risk getting busted for something ELSE the same day.

For the best too, since cops were every 10 ft out there.

well, u need to know some things:

1. are u sure he didnt have a radar? this would help a lot when fighting the ticket.
2. is pacing "legal" in your state? if not then u could get out on a techically
3. how much would a lawer cost? might be worth the cost if it means losing your lic.
4. see if anyone you know has a dad/friend etc that is a cop and ask him what u can do, you would be suprised how much they can help if u ask nicely and explain out everything.

good luck man

It can't get any worse than it already is, so fight it. Worse thing that can happen is the fine will stick, best thing that'll happen is the fine being lowered or removed.

Fight it! Most of the freeways around my place have troopers hiding under bridges all the time (694, 35w), so I almost ALWAYS go the speed limit or 5mph above. BUT what the cop did to you was extremly unfair (and he didn't even have radar to prove the actual speed you were going).

Fight it! If the cop doesn't show in court: "case dismissed". Plead "not guilty", never "guilty with an explanation". Any guilty plea means you just bought it.

I got a lot of speed tickets in St. Paul 40 years ago in my red '62 alfa spyder veloce. The tan 59 sprite (with judson blower) slipped under the radar. As did the 37 buick straight 8 which was my DD.

How's your record? Most courts will dismiss your first traffic violation in leu of traffic school.

As for radar, if he doesn't have it, he can't prove you were going 80. If he pased you, make sure you ask to see a record of his speedo calibration. There are hundreds of ways out of the ticket. Absolutly research it and go to court. 95% of the time judges reduce fines just for showing up.

The court date is usually on the ticket, this is the day that the cop has "scheduled" for his court appearances. One of the tactics is to delay the court date however you can. The court will reschedule and chances are the cop won't be able to make that new court date. And just as bliffle said if he doesn't show and you plead not guilty, "case dismissed".

There are WAY TO MANY police on the streets of minnesota. They are everywhere.

It getting out of hand because they have nothing better to do than pull people over for the smallest of things.

Bring that ****** to court. No radar=no ticket.

My friend who was riding with me, his cousin is the Chief of Police in St. Paul.

I just hope I dont get screwed too bad, and the court date isnt on the ticket. Becasue I am underage, the ticket gives no information but what you did wrong. You have to call after 10 days to get court date and the amount of the fine.

Um, usually when they reschedual a court date they do it for the officers next schedualed appearence. Have you ever actually done this, or is this what you heard from a "friend"? Delay tactics don't work, unless there's a better reason such as something you want to do before you get points on your license.

Yeah, here in PA, if you don't make the schedule court appearance, they just schedule another that the cop can come to.

But do you really think that a cop is going to show up to a court case for a petty offense. And take all that time out of his schedule?

Umm, that's why they have days scheduled for their court appearances. It is part of their schedule.

Its hard to say, what is the points system in your state? what are the penalty's for what you got stopped for? I doubt you'd loose your licence for that ****, but if you get points then your insurance goes up way fast. and it takes a while for them to lower it again, like 3 years+ (here in nj anyway)
