Front Lip

Does anyone have a picture of part# 591031 on an FB? I would like to see how the front lines up with the side rockers. The 85 GSL-SE I just bought is missing the lower valance. Blackdragon has it for like 500+shipping. If I like the way this lip looks, I'm just going to buy it to replace the Valance. If anyone has it installed, it doesn't attached to the factory valance does it?

Find a car in the wreckers or check the for sale section. With the Mariah bumpers you have to remove the bumper and use a piece of angle iron and an installation kit to mount them. Not very good is your ever involved in a front end collision.

Alright, but does anyone have a pic of the lip I posted at the top? And, does it need the lower valance to be mounted on the factory front? It is not the Mariah front. In fact, the lip doesn't even replace the bumper. It goes under the bumper.

I was thinking about this same one for my GSL-SE. It would definitley need to be smoothed in to the body with filler, I would think. The way the picture is, it looks like it is barely hanging on like a cheap halloween costume beard.

I don't think I've ever actually seen a car with that lip but I am interested to see what it would look like...lemme consult my SA/FB picture collection.

it looks like it attaches on, but i would get some fiberglass to fill in where the valence meets the front bumper and then some bondo (only the good stuff) to give it a nice smooth look. we recently did something similar to this on my bros gti (ima try to find some pics to show you what i mean).

The FB is an absolutely gorgeous car and does not need any body mods. Both of those front lip bits only take away from the design.

I like 591033 better, and have it on my '82.

(That image is from Mazdatrix, not my '82.)

And we are all welcome to your opinion...

Some of us would like a front spoiler for performance reasons...

Newbs

If that's the way you feel then you certainly won't like my toy.

i actually would actually love a simple lip to put on my car and figure out how to make the mariah fenders work. I really hate the look of the mariah front but love the angles of the fenders and quarters.
