front bumper lightning

anyone ever made an aluminum front bumper to replace the steel one??? i ask cuz today when i was removing the koni sway bar i noticed the car had a all aluminum bumper soo i will use that on my 84 i ll weigh thedifference and take measurements and let you all know just wanted to ask and share my news.

Huh? Don't all 1st gens (or is it just like 83-up) come with aluminum bumpers? I know all the ones I've taken off have been Al....

I'd bet you could take some serious weight off an Al bumper with a holesaw and a lot of time. Of course, since the whole damn thing only weighs like 10-15 pounds, it's all relative.

I have thought of making one, since the car I have bought for restoration came without bumpers.. So I would definately be interested in the weight difference.
