Found out how to post pics, so here is my 7
Im a fulltime college student and Ive had my 7 for the last 5 years but only recently have been able to fix it up, sort of. Im poor (like the rest of you) and so obviously an avid DIY'r when i can be and so this forum is an excellent source of information. Ive gone through a lot with my 7.... got me to highschool and back, my first job, was the only car running in my family for a while, packed it up when i left for college and also when i returned home (******* bay area rent) and shes still going strong. Im planning a debated 13b swap , although i wanted to go turbo, for now I will enjoy the na power. I love this car and have grown quite attached to it. I use to think that i would have this car until i could afford better, but now i think ill fix it up as best i can and drive it forever...even if i have to convert to ethanol when the oil runs out.
So here are some Pictures of me trying to take care of my 7, enjoy.
The first couple show what i did with my rear hacth. The original carpet was garbage as you can tell and it was an eye sore. I didn't have a spare tire so that was no concern to me.
I used 3/4 inch particle board 4 ft x 4 ft(very thick!)
black carpet from kragen's $15 a roll
general adhesive spray from kragens
a roofing stapler..i dunno what its called but its heavy duty
and a hanger, probably not the best but i couldnt trace the carpet because it was so messed up.
I followed outline with a hanger and placed it over the wood and traced with a pen.
Once i had entire outline i cut it into 3 peices...i dunno if you can tell by pic but the center peice is the biggest about 2 inches wider then the diameter of spare tire hole.
cut carpet to match outline, sprayed it, placed it and stapled it.
I love it, it looks awesome and it is an excellent deck for my 12 inch Alpine type R sub... yeah it sounds f'ing amazing.
Here are gold rims that turned out to be enkeis that i took off my dads 85, these 2 shine but the other two suck, so i painted them and used some clearcoat so the brake dust wouldnt chip it off or something
My $50 dollar seats i got from some mechanic who was parting out some guys car who did not pay. they are awesome, only 2 minor tears
My stereo surround i painted black folowing $100T2's walkthrough (awesomeness)
white gauge lights from ebay (awesomeness)
Lots of wires, but i had them out so i could zip tie them altogether and ghide them again.
and then theres the damn dlidfis mess... i just want to get it running well before i make it look nice. should be fixed by tommarrow hopefully.
well thats it. I have jumped between swaps but im going to stick to my original plan and do a 13b na within the next year for sure.
Thanks again guys and also to every one thats answers my questions...

more pics
Thanks guys. Here are a few more pics for the night.
When i got the car, the front bumper was all scratched and it had ugly pink paint or something underneath the silver top coat. So as a quick fix before i paint the entire car, i sanded and painted it with a spray can.
But when my igniter went out on me in the middle of 101 during morning rush hour, my dad and I pulled it with a rope 15 miles to my mechanic. I had to steer it or it wouldve gone into other lanes and needless to say this is VERY illegal, but again im broke and $100 tow is way too much.
So i pay by getting my bumper all scatched up from hitting my dad when he was breaking.
and a shot of the dirty rims I painted black, they look a lot better and shinier when clean.

2 of the gold rims looked good, i liked the look alot. But the other too just looked brown. So i always wanted black/chrome. Lol actually the 2 gold ones are still gold, and i ended up just painting the other 2 black for now. Takes like 2 hours for each one!
