found a low mileage non running gsl-se

OK so I was driving around yesterdayand ran into lady with a non running 1984 gsl-se and it only had about 32k miles on it. Now she said she got into a front end collision and the wires caught on fire so that's why its not running.

I asked it it was for sell she said yes it was but she's gonna see if the first offer for it is gonna go through if not I can have it for $500 please everyone wish me luck I would love to tow this car home and see if I can fix the up the motor like new again

If it's really nice, you might try offering more then $500 so you don't loose out.

I thought about it but from the tone of her voice it sounded like he has made an offer for it and never came back around for sometime but I will try to go about 650 because I'm on a tight budget right now.

And before I forget it is a limited edition 1984 gsl-se so kinda my type of thing.

there is an 83 limited edition, its a GS model, so its a 12A, with drums. sunroof, its a light green outside with red interior, and some 14" bbs like wheels.

the GSL-SE's are all 13B efi, and have full GSL trim, so power windows, sunroof, etc

No. What he is saying is that if it's a LE (Limited Edition), then it's NOT an SE.

If its an SE with that low of mileage, you would be better off bring the car back to life (worth a lot more) rather than taking all the "goodies" as you say. The thing that makes that car valuable is it is a SE and its very low mileage. You can pick up SE "goodies" anywhere and not throw away a valuable car in the process.

ok well me and an rx-8 buddy of mine went to check it out more thourouly today and its pretty rusted on the outside and they have had the intake and a few other things off the motor for about 9 years think its worth bringing the 13b back to life? and I made a mistake its just a gsl-se and its got the 13b EFI

but as for the car we can probably fix it but until I know if we can find a good or make a runnable wiring harness for it to even start.

any real thoughts on this cause as I said in my first post the engine harness caught on fire.

now that I really think about it the project to get the car running right again would be a few years. because I work so much and only make comfortable amounts of money.

If it's rusted like you say and with it taken apart, I'd negotiate on the price. At this place in time it's just a lawn ornament to the lady and she probably just wants it gone. Offer $200 and tell her you'll have it out of there that same day.

Yeah I think I will do that cause even if we could get it running would spend more getting a good 13b with harness and redoing the whole body from the rust and to getting it painted.

But I will see if she's willing for lower.

Just a little edit: but I guess I could alway transplant just a motor and use it for rally in upper idaho
