Question Found an FB for sale...buy it or not?

Its a 85 GSL-SE....great body no dents or dings....paint is coming off on hood and roof but that was expected. I think they said it had 140-150k miles on it.....started right up and idled great....had my friend Aaron with me since he knows much more about rotarys than me and he liked it. If i get it im planning on just doing a good tune up and probably exhaust...then save for a little bit and do a turbo II swap.

Think i should do it?

Wish i had pics but we looked at it when on our way to repo a car so i didnt have a digi....

Also they want 3g....

That seems awful high for a car with that many miles.

I'd say 2500...

The body is in the shape you are saying and there are minimum leaks (none would be better), I'd say 2500 would be a good price.

I wouldn't even bother if they do not drop to $2000 or 2200.

2k max
If you have your heart set on an fb, you can do better for less, unless this thing has an immaculate service record.

I cant come up with the money right now anyway....and im still looking around at other cars....this is just the beginning of the search for a nice car. Id rather take my time finding one than jump on one that is over priced.

Umm... But isn't the whole point of owning an FB, because you're owning an older more historical car than its decendents?

offer under 2k, how much lower is up to you. also if you bring cash with you it makes you look a whole lot more serious and maybe seeing the money would help the owner sell.

paint in bad condition ruins a older cars visual appeal and price, it makes a perfect runner look like a really cheap beater that hasn't been kept in good condition. which obviously isn't worth 3k.

3000 bucks seems a little high, I'de say at a max 2,200 bucks... I just bought my SE for 2000 and everything in it is sweet, not mint but close enough fro a 22 year old car,,, Paint is not cheep, and I cant see you buying the car for 3000 and then paying someone 1500 to 2000 to paint it, for that save 5000 and get a really nice 7.. Just my 2 cents,,,, Just a nother thought if you have to get a loan to buy the car, you should not get it,, these cars like to eat your money.....................................

If i can get them down to 2g and get the loan on monday for it...im going to buy it. Paint or body work is really not a big deal for me...my dad is a body man at nissan and the painter is my sisters boyfriend....lol so yeah its not going to even cost me close to 1000 for a good paintjob since i dont have to pay for labor.
