follow up: passed CA emissions

Just a follow up to my post from a few months ago:

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/failed-ca-inspection-high-hc-co-355635/

Yesterday the car passed CA Emissions. The main cat was totally shot, I replaced that with one from Autozone ($75).

I also had the car inspected/tuned by a local Rotary guy (Michael's Mazda in Rohnert Park). He verified all the emissions components were working and adjusted the Carb.

Thanks to all that helped me out.

Good deal, man.

Have you noticed any performance gains/losses with putting on a generic Autozone cat?

Once again, congratulations on getting another first gen back on the road!

Quite honestly, I haven't driven the car enough to know, and its got *junk* tires on it, so I don't push it much.

the Autozone cat is a lot lighter. Probably half the weight. The stock cat is *heavy!*
