Flywheel resurfacing and dumbasses !!

I can't stand stupid people who throw **** together just so they can use it. I pulled the tranny and rear end from my GS to swap in the tranny and rear end from the SE. My tranny guy calls me and tells me I need a clutch hub assembly for the 3 - 4 gear in the 5 speed from the SE cause some dumbass decided to ram the gears and split the clutch hub. Last night I drop the tranny from the GS only to find that the flywheel needs resurfacing cause again... some dumbass or asses, decided that when they replaced the clutch they wouldn't resurface the flywheel. At least I am doing it right. And hey guys and gals, don't try to find a 54 mm socket within 24 hours. I ended up going with 2 1/8" and it works perfect to remove the flywheel.

So between the two flywheels you have, and the two trannies you have, you can't either repair one tranny or use the flywheel off the other engine?

Not really. I planned on inspecting the flywheel to see if it was a smooth surface or not before I slapped in a new clutch. Which is what i did. The reason I say dumbass is the flywheel is grooved sooo bad from not ever being resurfaced. This should have been done at some point, at least when the last clutch was installed. In some cases, just as brake rotors, you can get by without resurfacing, but not repeatedly.

Yes! I have the clutch hub assemblies already from drivetrain.com for the SE tranny, which is the tranny I wanted due to the taller 5th gear. I could have used my other tranny but that was out of an older rotary pickup and with the gear ratio from the SE diff I like the matchup of the two much better. The flywheel I hope is not grooved beyond the point to where I can't resurface it, otherwise, the flywheel off the SE is good enough to where I know that can be resurfaced.
