Flywheel?
Bought this flywheel last week finely got it and would like to make sure I know what I got and what I need. I was told this came froma s5 NA with less the 1k miles. I was told it was a light weight steel but appears to be ALUMINUM. Also apears to be missing the dowls.
'83 - '92 225mm NA aluminum flywheel. No need for dowels. Just purchase a Racing Beat bolt set (find it on Mazdatrix' website) and you can use any 215 or 225mm disc and pressure plate.
You got yhe alumiym flywheel bolt kit, right? The light steel kit won't work.
Your kit should contain six short fat bolts and washers to hold the flywheel to the counterweight. There also should be six long thin bolts; two being slightly longer than the other four, 12 washers and six nuts.
I don't know the torque specs for alumunum flywheels and whether you need to use any thread locker - you;ll need to ask on this forum or call up RB. For the light steel flywheels, they recommend 28 foot pounds for the thick bolts to the counterweight and 14 foot pounds for the pressure plate bolts.
Do you have an alignment tool?
