Flush engine coolant w/out radiator

Hello to all. I just got this 84 GS a month ago, and I am in the process of getting it back up and running. After, two weeks of searching, I finally found a nice aluminum radiator for it on ebay. I already removed the old radiator, and I want to flush the system before putting the new radiator on. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Take off the thermostat housing & remove the t-stat, direct the lower radiator hose into a suitable receptacle (anti-freeze is toxic and shouldn''t be allowed to just drain to the street), set the heater temp control to "high", plug the upper rad hose opening, and run your garden hose into the t-stat hole thru a (cold) engine for as long as needed for clear water to come out. You can also pull the block drain plug to get the corner, if you like.

Drain thoroughy, and then close everything up with the new radiator, and refill with antifreeze & distilled water.
