Fixed a voltage problem today....
For the past couple weeks, I've noticed my volts gauge was reading a little low.... started trouble shooting things, and I traced it down to the main ground wire(from the battery to the back of the motor). There is a point where the wire is exposed, and then a crimp is attached so it can be bolted to the frame rail. Well, the wire had begun to corrode at that point, and was building up resistance. Replaced that wire with a new one from the dealer, and then I ran another ground wire from that grounding point to the top of the motor(where the hoist eyelet bolts on).... Voltage is now sitting at a steady 13.8 volts....

I read some posts that recommended replacing the battery cables on my 85 SE. 20$ and an hour later my car ran and idled smoother than it has in a long time. The car starts better than our 2002 xterra! I also ran a second ground to the motor and that made another noticable difference. Killer advice in this forum!!
