Fix LED turn signal hyperflash the right way.

I could not find a suitable plug and play electronic flasher to stop hyper flash, and I wasn't about to use resistors. So I looked at the schematics and found a way, all you need to do is pull 2 pins from a plug, connect those to a 3 pin electronic flasher part number Cf-13 and give the flasher a ground. No more hyper flash. You don't have to cut any factory wiring, and you don't even have to remove the old flasher.

This is for an 84 model, idk which cars are similar.

1. get a relay similar to this

2. Go to foxed.ca and down load the schematics for your year car. Reference section F of the wiring diagram. And 15-12 of the FSM.

3. Remove plug "x-11" from the CPU. Its near the clutch pedal and a pain to remove.

4. Identify the wire/pin that comes from the hazard switch to the CPU. On my car it is "pin Q" and is a green wire with a white stripe. Remove that pin with a small jewlers screwdriver and Modify a spade terminal with a pair of cutters or a dremel so its roughly half the width (the pins in x-11 plug are narrower). Crimp it to a wire and plug it in then wrap with heat shrink or tape to keep it insulated. the other end of the wire goes to the pin on the flasher labeled +/pos/batt (the relay should have these labeled).

5. Identify the wire going to the hazard switch/turn signal stalk from the CPU. On my car it was "pin r" and had a green wire with a black stripe. Remove and plug a modified spade in and run that wire to the L or load pin on your flasher.

6. Findna suitable ground for the -/ground pin on the flasher. The nut for the clutch master works really well BTW.

7. Plug x-11 back into the CPU and Test.

8. Tie everything up and out of the way.

Took me maybe 30 min.

Awesome info to have, thanks for sharing!

Did this cause any ill effects on the blinking aspect of normal halogen bulbs?

Didnt try. If you just wanted to use a cheaper more readily available flasher you could go to an auto parts store and get a regular 3 pin flasher.
