Fitting a 20b into a 12A chassis

Im toying around with the idea of starting off a long term 1st gen project. I'm thinking about a 20b and have seen 1st gens with one. I know you can buy mounts for the FC's 13B for a 20B and I assumed you could use those in a first gen (fitting aside ... just that the mounts would bolt to the engine and x-member). But what if I bought a 12A equiped RX7? Can you swap X-members with an FC? If not does someone sell 12A=>20B mounts? Really just wondering if anyone has 20B'd a 12A RX7?

And on a side note what rear end could handle alot of power (no more than 400 hp) that can BOLT IN to an RX7. Ive heard about putting a Mazda 4x4 truck rear end in 1st gens and it had a 4.44 rear gear.

Help convert a former 2nd gen-ner (sold my GTUs/TII in march) to a 1st gen guy!

Thanks for your time

the cost of doing this project will be over 10k to do it right. And will probably be more.. I would install a 13B-re and can get an easy 400-450 HP. That's me.. Do a search a few people have done the -re and 3 rotor swap here

Actually I am planing on getting a 1980 SA that I found close to my house and putting a 20B in it also if I do all the work my self I think after calculating everything I came up somewhre around 6500 and 7000 gran but then again that is by doing all the work yourself inclooding the rebuild and all.

I would like to see what parts you are getting for that cheap. The whole drivetrain will have to be swapped out including another rear end setup which is not cheap.

I plan on it costing alot and taking a long time. And yes I would do almost every bit of work myself (except fabing like intercooler piping and such). Im just wondering how you mount a 20b (or 13B-re for that matter) into a 12A SA22?
