First year for LSD???

What is the first year of the RX-7 that had the LSD and the rear discs? Does an '81 have these? I know the junkyard has an '81 with the rear end still in-tact, and I was wondering if I should bother picking it up for my '79... They want $80 cdn, but they don't know whether or not it's LSD...

all you need to do is test it. just spin one wheel, if both got the same direction it's an LSD, if it doesn't it's an open diff, or a REALLY worn LSD.

'81 was the first year for the LSD. It should have rear disc to have an LSD but you will want to check it, some have found replacement open diffs in thier disc brake 3rd members and some have put LSD in their autocrossers with drums. So you never know.

Just my $.02
