first gen turbo gt transmission identification
hey guys. i recently picked up a factory turbo efi 12a. it had some changes made to it so im not entirely sure if it was just a turbo engine mated to stock trans or if the trans is the turbo one too.. or if there is even a difference.
are there any identifiers that would let me know which transmission i had?
pic of engine for you.
will take better pics of the engine setup if it piques anyones interest. also can snap a photo of the trans if that would help

Thats a pretty nice looking blow-thru carby setup. Do you have the upper half of the plenum chamber (carb hat) ? also, Ive read that the turbo 12A tranny's were beefed up a bit, more like the early rotary tranny's and less like the "M' NA/piston RWD trans we're more familiar with...but info is hard to find on these lil bad boys, so that is unsupported speculation at best
and looking at your pic, I didnt realize the 12AT's had a coolant port machine above the rear rotor iron, like the FC's...plus it has an FC "appearing" alternator...me thinks it may perhaps be a hybrid? are there castings on the irons like "R5" or "Y"? are there injector ports on the center iron? stock turbo? HT18-BM casting on the compressor?

Thanks for the reply. The blow through kit is hks and it is complete. Hks turbo mani, tial wg and the turbo is garrett air research t04. Couldn't find casting marks on the irons but it does have injector ports in the center iron and the fuel rail is different than the 13b and no plastic spacer. The alt looks similar but is about 80% the size of the fc alt.

so the transmission that i have is not for a turbo car. an aussie told me that the turbo trannies have a vent on them above the starter like so
also putting this engine/combo up for sale/trade. the turbo hits the frame rail on my rx2
check 1st gen parts for sale if anybody is interested, i would really like to find a running na engine to replace this.
and i was mistaken on the wg. its not tial; its hks.
