first gen airdams

Does anyone know if an airdam for an 81-85 will fit the 79-80 model? Because I searching for airdams and I seem to prefer the ones that fit that year. Has anyone tried to put one on or know the extent of the modifications to make it fit if they do?

An early 1st gen air dam will not work/fit on your car. I also have a early 1st. gen and
the only one I can find is available through Mazdatrix or Victoria British. I have done
quite a bit of research on this and I dont even think you can modify the later 1st.
gen airdam ti fit.

anything will fit it all depends on how bad you want to put it on your car, the amount of patience you have getting it too fit and of course a money factor...

it will fit !!!! not to much work to do also. !!!!! not difficult either. !!!! just cut the air dam around the bumper end caps and install. not hard, will work, may be will look good If you fit it good anuff. easier way remove early bumper repalce with late bumper install airdam no cutting assured it will look right.

some people are just going to jump out and tell you anything will not fit/work good luck

JAGuiD,

they are talking about lip/chin spoilers, not full bumper replacement types.

I know what they are talking about. I just wanted to know if i could use the airdam for an 81-85, if so, I will put it on and fab it so it is flush. I was just wondering because the fenders/bumper are different on the later first gens.
