Question Finding temp sender wire

I need to find my stock temp sender wire. I guess it got cut or something.

Where does it come from? The firewall?

Is it a certain color?

Any tips will help

Thanks

And im NOT asking where the sensor thing in the engine is. I need to know where the wire comes out from behind the dash.

Wow, theres a mass of spaghetti under the dash. Wont be easy to find even knowing what color it is. Theres online wiring diagrams for all the years to help you trace it. Good luck.

According to the wiring diagram for the '82, it should be a solid yellow wire. Not sure if this is the same for '84, but it's worth a shot. Good luck.

Here's a link to the full '84 wiring diagram in PDF format:

Yes it goes through the firewall.. It eventually ties into your gauge cluster....

Well, if the sensor is in the engine bay, and the gauge is in the cabin, then yes, it goes through the firewall. Though I'm not sure what you're going to do about the problem if you don't want to get under there?
