Finally tagged and on the road. Need help with door seals.
I finally got the SE licensed and cruising. What a great ride! I was thinking about getting some sort of a personalized plate, you know 80CID or something. When I went to the license bureau the next plate was 123 RNR . What a perfect gift! Running through the gears is definitely the way to rest and relaxation! I said that that was a perfect plate for my rex and saved the extra $$$.
It seems a set of door seals will be in order after some hiway cruising last night. Anybody have experience with which are the good ones available?

Thanks, Everything I've gotten over the years from V. Brit. has been of good quality. I have watched the ones on ebay and wondered if anybody had had experience with them.

I bought a pair of the ebay door seals last year when they were $45.00. They fit well and seem to be holding up ok so far, plus kept me warmer tihis winter

For whats its worth, i bought a set for my 85 easy to install but make sure you run a small bead of silicone on it else it may leak, i forgot to do that & ended up with a wet carpet after a heavy rain, glad to say no more leaks & alot quieter.

The top part of my stock seals are crunchy and split open(though they do not leak) which makes them quite ugly. I would pay the money to replace these no problem. So what's involved with replacement?
1) Open Door or remove door?
2) Yank the old ones off with bare hands?
3) Bead groove with a silicon based sealant?
4) Hard to get back on/in groove? 1-2hours or what?

got mine from mazdatrix. genuine mazda oem parts. theyve been on a year and are holding up fine. the seals are held on by clips. there are a lot of pegs that poke out of the door seal, and these pegs pop into matching holes around the perimeter of the door. very easy to do and not very time consuming. maybe an hour, tops.
