!! Finally Running !!

Well I finally got my car started again woot for me. Now whenever I start it I have to hold down the gas peddle to keep it idling, would I fix this by the set screw on the carb, or is it the gas peddle linkage, if it is linkage how do i change/set it ?

Well that is kind of a wierd question. It might be the spark not the gas you just have to push the gas so hard to push enough fuel in the car just to barly make it run. It shouldnt matter how loose the throttel cable is. I bet the ignighter is going bad or something. There should be some great walk through or how to's in the search history for that.

sorry i guess i didn't explain quite right, I don't have to fully hold down the peddle, just a little to keep it idling otherwise the rpms drop too low and it dies, It just needs a little more gas, btw just if someone knows off the top of their head where is the idle screw on the carb?




NOTE: Crabs do not have idle screws.......thank you and goodnight

The idle screw is tough to see as it is hidden by the rats nest. Take a flashlight and
look to the lower right of the mixture screw. You will need a LONG flatblade screwdriver to reach it. Turn it clockwise to increase the idle speed.

Yea the idel and air mixture are both there just extreamly hard to see with the rats nest. If you barly have to hold it could be air/fuel mixture, spark, or compression. dont know the full story behind your car or engine. it could be anything really. I would take a look into your spark and a/f mixture. The Chilton Rx7 book should show where the a/f mixture screw is at.

I think mine has a cap on it so i can't mess with it lol.
