Fiberglass hood $130
Shipping cost me $40 to fly it in to Atlanta. Hood weighed 12lbs (including the cardboard box it was in). Was very strong and well-braced. Did not bolt on, it requires hood pins.
He does not off a Carbon-fiber hood though. $350 sounds like an excellent price on a CF hood.

I was thinking of trying to find one of those sprayfoam setups that packaging guys use. They first bag the part, then spray the foam in??

I have seen Japco parts.....pure race. These units are pretty thin. My first unit came out just like Japcos(as far as thickness). If you put it on a street car the hood buldges up at hwy speeds. And yes, mine uses the factory hinges and will open as normal. I would say the Japco unit is good for racers that are wrecking their cars and buying alot of hoods. I am looking to build a little more streetable but still light weight.....I am not knocking Japco, he has been doing it for years and is good at what he does!!

I'm in for the carbon hood. A scoop would be nice, i'd personally prefer TII scoop over where the carb on a 12a is, but if anything else, no scoop is good too.

sorry, the period somehow was stuck on the damn url.
mike: i was there to weed your whatever you call that around your house and you said you were joking. i just think you suffer from old timers syndrome, lol. oh and when you drive like a grandma, you probably won't overheat either.
daedalis- mine is just there for heat evacuation and isn't very noticable. some people just have different tastes. mike can vent the metal in front of the headlight to bring in cold air directly to the filter and may need to cowl the hood to make it fit. so there are some reasons behind it.
directfreak- i thought so, lol. i like your oh face guy.

subtle louvers in the raised strips behind the headlights might look good...
however, evacuating the hot air from behind the rad/fan is the most practical so a centred vent, perhaps louvered, would do best if at all.
Personally I like the smooth look of the stock hood, but it's all personal aesthetic.

I wasn't saying to not make it, just don't make it like Japco's. A TII style hood or one with the inverted scoop that bolted on would be worth more, and better.
I dont know anyone that's had any problems with his hoods though. They are just plain. I have had one before.

yea i really like the r.e. hood thats awesome looking. it reminds me of a cuda hood. and the pass. side scoop sits right infront/above the r.e. dual 36dcd intake so its a cold air intake
